Booking
How to book.
Can I book over the phone, without using the website?
Of course. Call us on +39 392 000 8687 (every day, 9 a.m.–7 p.m.) or write to info@photoguest-bb.com: tell us your dates and number of guests and we'll take care of the booking. No online system to use.
How much does a room cost?
Rates vary depending on several factors: number of guests, dates and board option chosen. Enter your dates in the booking widget and you'll immediately see the price for each available room.
Can I cancel for free?
Yes, always: all our rates are flexible, with cancellation conditions more generous than you'll usually find elsewhere. We don't offer non-refundable rates.
Is a credit card required?
Yes, as a guarantee only: nothing is charged at the time of booking. The payment method summary is included at the bottom of your confirmation email.
Can I book without a credit card?
Yes: call us or write to us and we'll find the right solution together.
How much is the tourist tax in Siracusa?
The Municipality of Siracusa charges a tourist tax of 4% of the accommodation amount, for a maximum of 7 nights, capped at €5 per person per night. Some exemptions apply. It is settled on site.
Arrival & parking
How to get here.
How does parking work?
No worries: there is free public parking in the area, with no time limit (the option most guests choose). Alternatively, "Parking Gelone" is a guarded private car park right next to the property (currently, in 2026, €2 per hour, maximum €20 per day).
What time can I check in?
Check-in is from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., always in person and by appointment. For direct bookings we're flexible: let us know your arrival time in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate you outside the standard window.
What is the check-out time?
By 10 a.m. If you have a late flight or want to keep exploring Siracusa, we'll store your luggage until departure at no extra cost.
Can I leave my luggage before check-in or after check-out?
Yes, at no extra cost: we'll store your luggage before arrival or after departure, for as long as you need.
How far is Catania airport?
About 45 minutes by car on the Catania–Siracusa motorway (SS114). There is also a direct bus from Catania Airport to Siracusa (approximately 1 h 20 min, roughly hourly). Full arrival details are on the Getting here page.
Is there a ZTL in Siracusa?
Yes, but only in Ortigia. PhotoGuest is on Corso Gelone, in the Neapolis area, outside the restricted-traffic zone (ZTL). You can drive right to our door without any issues, 24 hours a day.
Are there nearby bus stops?
Yes, very convenient: there is a local bus stop right on Corso Gelone, just a few metres from our entrance. The intercity bus terminal is next to the train station, about 500 m away.
Rooms & breakfast
The rooms, the breakfast.
Are all rooms the same?
No: four rooms, each with a distinct character inspired by a moment of light. Black & White, Twilight and Sunset have a balcony with a Pantheon view; Blue Hour has a window onto the main street. All have a queen bed (160×190) and an en-suite bathroom. Photos and details of each room are in the Rooms section.
How many guests can a room hold? Can we bring children?
Rooms have a queen bed (160×190) and accommodate two guests. We do not have cots, extra beds or connecting rooms.
Are the rooms quiet?
Yes, all of them: we're on the 4th floor and every room has double-glazed windows.
Is the building accessible? Are there stairs or a lift?
PhotoGuest is on the 4th floor with a lift; from street level, there are 10 steps before the lift. We do not have rooms with enhanced accessibility or equipment for guests with reduced mobility: if you have specific needs, please write to us before booking and we'll assess together.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, free: Gigabit fiber, coverage throughout the building including all rooms. Ideal for remote work and streaming too.
Do you accept pets?
No, we do not accept pets.
How does breakfast work?
International breakfast designed to please everyone — not too sweet, not too savory: our croissants and Sicilian bread are something you'll remember. Served between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m.
Is breakfast included in the price?
You choose: we offer a bed & breakfast rate and a room-only rate for maximum flexibility. Select your preferred option in the booking widget.
Can you cater for food allergies?
Let us know about any allergies or intolerances in advance and we will absolutely take them into account.
Siracusa & excursions
The city.
Where exactly is PhotoGuest? Is it central?
On Corso Gelone, in the Neapolis area and outside the ZTL: a very convenient location. You can walk to Ortigia (750 m, 10 min), the Archaeological Park/Greek Theatre (~950 m) and the train station (500 m, 6 min), and drive right to our door with free parking in the neighbourhood.
How far is Ortigia?
About 750 metres — a 10-minute walk to the heart of Ortigia. We're on the main street, in the Neapolis area, outside the ZTL.
How far is PhotoGuest from Siracusa station?
The station is 500 metres away, about 6 minutes on foot. Convenient if you're arriving by train without a car.
Do I need a car to get around Siracusa?
No: from the B&B you can walk to Ortigia, the Archaeological Park and the station. A car is useful only for day trips, where there are fewer restrictions (Noto, Marzamemi, Etna, the beaches).
How many days do you need to visit Siracusa?
We suggest 4 days: 2 for Siracusa plus at least 2 day trips. The first to Noto, Vendicari and Marzamemi; the second to Ragusa, Modica and Scicli. More days means more to see; if you're short on time, we'll give you our best tips for making the most of even a few hours.
What is the best time to visit Siracusa?
Every season has something special: summer for the sea and sea breeze; spring and autumn for mild weather, perfect for walking around town; low season for quiet and the most authentic side of Siracusa.
Can you recommend restaurants?
Absolutely: we have a tried-and-tested list of genuine Sicilian restaurants (no tourist traps), both in Ortigia and nearby, for every taste: seafood, meat, pizza, street food. We'll share the full list after your booking.
Do you organise excursions?
Yes! Eleonora is a tour guide who knows Siracusa and Noto inside out: tours and excursions on request, told by someone who actually lives here. We also arrange boat trips along the coast with our partners — find them on the Experiences page.
Can't find your answer?
Ask us directly.
We reply within a few hours, in Italian and English. You're not a ticket number — we're two people who read and write back.
